Masterchef Menno Post, a former two-michelinstar chef at De Bokkendoorns, has opened his own restaurant in July 2018. Restaurant Olivijn, in the Kleine Houtstraat 70 in Haarlem, offers the best of gastronomy in a homey atmosphere.
The chef will present the menu at the table, and offer the possibility to adjust the dishes to personal preferences. Sommelier Milton Veresput has carefully put together a wine menu with beautiful domains and chateaus from both the classical and the modern world.
Maitre Wietse ‘t Jong will make sure the guests are comfortable. Guests can, when desired, eat the aperitif and dessert in the gallery on the first floor. Gallery Olivijn has a different exposition every 8 weeks, in which an artist from Haarlem will always be included.
The flavours are elegant, refined and subtle combined into a special mouthfeel. Menno controls the art of leaving out; he tells a story through his dishes and by doing so has developed his own signature. This translates into dishes like crab salad with burned avocado, buttermilk and yuzu. In addition, his crispy baked pork belly with langoustine or the tongue roll with kibbeling crisps are phenomenal. The dishes are luxurious and the chef always makes sure you are comfortable. Feel at home at Olivijn!
