The Golden Streets

An average offer? You won't find that in the Gouden Straatjes. What you do find is an old-fashioned shopping atmosphere and countless special boutiques. From concept stores and vintage stores to specialty craft stores and exclusive design.

The seven Golden Streets surround the Grand Place, the central square in the heart of the city. Each street has something special. Discover the Instagram-worthy Warmoesstraat, the latest fashion trends in the Anegang, the beautiful buildings in the Gierstraat, the creative Schagelstraat and the stylish Zijlstraat. And don't forget the Koningstraat; that's a real must-see. The Kleine Houtstraat not only belongs to the Gouden Straatjes, but has twice been voted the nicest shopping street in the Netherlands.

Shopping areas

Shopping centers can also be found outside the center. Centrum Schalkwijk is a shopping center with supermarkets, stores and informal restaurants. Generaal Cronjéstraat is a shopping street in Haarlem-North. There are about several 150 stores. From clothing stores to drugstores and from restaurants to specialty stores.
