On these two holidays there are lots of fun activities for children. Coming on a different day? Children's Corso in Haarlem
On Saturday evening, April 22, the Flower Parade of the Bulb Region will once again drive its annual route from Noordwijk to Haarlem. Prior to this parade, the Children's Corso will be organized especially for children.
Will you also walk with your beautifully decorated bike in the parade this year, which is organized especially for all children from Haarlem and surroundings?
From 2:30 p.m., the party starts as early as New Church Square with festive music from the spring DJ and you can get your face painted or a delicious rainbow ice cream. At 4:15 p.m. the colorful children's parade through the city starts.Â
From shows and movies to disco at the Barn
At the Barn, see the funniest shows and movies throughout the vacations. For example, visit the funny musical theater performance What's Eating Donnie Grape, join the adventure in No Eye Close or watch the film Super Cat Maurice. The vacation will end swingingly on May 7 with a children's disco!
Curiosities, fossil fantasies and more
Take a trip back in time this vacation to the Lorentz Lab at Teylers Museum? Or craft your own cabinet of curiosities together, join a family tour of instruments and fossils or make your own deed with cursive letters. During the May holiday there is all sorts of things to do throughout the museum.
Feel like going outside?
Then check out the fun activity program at Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. You can do all kinds of scavenger hunts, but also join excursions such as aquatic animals in the Wed, animals in the dunes, picking owl balls and the bat excursion.
Search-your-word
One of Holland's best-known and most beloved children's book illustrators, Thé Tjong-Khing celebrates his 90th birthday this year. To mark the occasion, Verwey Museum Haarlem has organized an exhibition of his works. Especially for children, the illustrator has created a 'search-your-window' and there is also a large drawing that children can complete.
Portraits and children's tours at Frans Hals Museum
Dress up as a real gunman, step into the shoes of Frans Hals and take a painting workshop or discover the highlights of museum during the children's tour. On May 3 and 5, you can also have a colorful portrait drawn by a real artist!
King's Day in Haarlem
Where will you celebrate Koningsdag? Koningsdag in Haarlem promises to be a big party for children as well, including various free markets, a children's parade, bouncy castles, (old Dutch) children's games, music and a fair on the Grote Markt and Zaanenlaan.
Children's festival Liberation Pop
In Haarlem we celebrate our freedom on Friday, May 5 with Bevrijdingspop. There is also plenty to do for children!
Dance and jump along during dance workshops and sing along during performances by various artists. Also the traditional carousel will be back, you can do crafts, get your face painted or have fun on an assault course. Moreover, there is a silent disco and you can read a book in the reading tent. Playground Haarlem
