The surroundings of Haarlem
Using an app, participants cycle past various addresses in and around Haarlem that sell food (related) products. The focus is on local, artisan products that are sustainably produced. Along the way, inspiring stories of different makers can be heard. In addition, through sound clips, photos, videos and text, information is provided about the Haarlem area, local producers and the way the product is made. Where possible, participating makers offer a peek into their kitchen or the opportunity to buy their products. For example, you can visit an Oyster mushroom farm and beekeeper, a working windmill and a brewery.
And don't forget to fill your bike basket!
The Local food cycle route works via the app Izi.Travel. It can be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play. There is no fixed start and end point, so you can start at any desired location on the route. The route also includes various catering and sanitary stops, including whether there is a charging point for e-bikes.Â
