Arts & Culture

Be surprised by Haarlem's rich culture. Will it be a museum, the theater or a walk past historical monuments?

FANCY A MUSEUM?

From Dutch masters to modern art, from arthouse film to children's theater and from pop concert to city history. In Haarlem, you'll find plenty of art and culture. Of course you'll want to visit the oldest museum in the Netherlands, look inside one of Haarlem's almshouses or wander past historic buildings like the Town Hall, the Vleeshal and the Grote Kerk. But there is more, much more....

Every day there is theater, music, dance or film. In fact, Haarlem has several theaters, cultural centers and a large pop venue. In Patronaat you can enjoy well-known and lesser-known acts and bands from all over the world. Philharmonie is Haarlem's concert hall. And for cabaret, theater and theater go to the Stadsschouwburg, housed in a beautiful building.

CULTURE IN HAARLEM

GO EXPLORING

Also inspiring is De Schuur, a vibrant place for culture with daily programming. Just outside the center you will find a number of cultural hotspots and (small) creative initiatives where you can go for events, lectures, exhibitions and concerts, such as Het Badhuis in the Leidsebuurt or the Pletterij, center for debate and culture.
