Choose your shopping moment

When do you go to the city centre?

In Haarlem we try to do everything to make your visit as safe and covid-proof as possible. One of the measures taken is the spreading of crowds. It is easier to follow the 1,5 meter distance rules if not everyone does their shopping at the same moment.

To help you with this we have created a table with the peak and off-peak hours for the city centre. Have a look at the timetable below to plan your visit to the centre. The Holiday Season is around the corner. Please do your shopping well ahead of time.

Due to new measures, announced October 13th 2020, shopping night on Thursdays ends at 8 PM.

You rather do your shopping online? Many shops have a webshop or you can order by DM on their Instagram/Facebook account. Please contact the shop if you have any questions on this. You can also go to Haarlemse Winkels, where you can find a variety of local webshops.

Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are pretty quiet in the city centre of Haarlem. We therefore invite you to do your shopping in the city centre on one of these days. Keep in mind that on Mondays not all the shops are open, and if so, mostly from 12 or 1 PM.

Our highest peak-hour is Saturdays between 1 and 4 PM. Please avoid shopping during these hours or limit your purchases to the ones you really need.
