Frans Hals

Frans Hals At the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, you will discover ancient, modern and contemporary art. For example, you can see a very beautiful doll's house about 270 years old built by Sara Rothé, a very wealthy lady. Not to play with herself, but as a kind of mini-museum, which she could show to visitors. The dollhouse contains as many as 1,000 small, handmade objects, and even a pet lives there! Can you find m? Come peek inside the Frans Hals Museum location court this fall. Be sure to grab a family booklet at the front desk and discover together the exhibition Haarlem Heroes. Other Masters featuring all of Frans Hals's militia paintings. At the end of your visit, take a drawing sheet with you and make your own portrait at home. Frans Hals is of course curious about your result...via Facebook or Instagram you can show that you are a master artist!

Teylers Museum

Teylers, Museum of Wonder, is the oldest art, natural history and science museum in the Netherlands. Truly a place of discovery and wonder. For the youngest visitors you will find the online picture book 'Bear is loose'. You can use this digital book to playfully prepare your visit to Teylers Museum together with your child. Teylers Museum is teeming with animals, did you know? There are a few hidden in almost every room. Walk along and you might find them! There are three scavenger hunts available about the permanent collection. You can pick up the free scavenger hunt at ticket sales in the museum entrance. Teylers Museum is full of fantastic, weird, beautiful and crazy contraptions, animals, books, coins, paintings and drawings. On Sunday afternoon, get to know them better during workshops for the whole family.

Anno Haarlem

Dome Cathedral Haarlem

Exceptional church building, which in terms of architectural development, along with the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the Sacré Coeur in Paris, the Westminster Cathedral in London and the Koekelberg Basilica in Brussels, ranks among the top five major church buildings erected between 1850 and 1950. More than 50 important Dutch artists collaborated on this building, including Jan Toorop and Mari Andriessen.

City Walks

Would you like to take your own group on a different day or time for a guided city walk? That is also possible. The cost for a guide is € 100 for a Dutch-language walk and € 115 for a walk in German, English or French. The duration of the walk is 90 minutes and again there is a maximum group size of 14 people.

Here you can also choose which starting and ending point you would like. However, take into account crowds or ask for advice from the tourist information office. You also decide on the subject of the walk, choosing either the general historical monuments walk or another theme as described below.
