Grote of Sint-Bavokerk

Grote of Sint-Bavokerk

For centuries the church named Grote or Sint-Bavokerk has dominated Haarlem’s skyline. The tower rises proudly above the city like an exclamation mark. The mediaeval church was built between 1370 and 1520 and is situated in the old centre on one of the most beautiful squares in the Netherlands, the Grote Markt.

The church belongs to the Top 100 Dutch UNESCO monuments. Famous painters Frans Hals and Pieter Saenredam are buried in the Bavo church and the renowned Müller organ was once played by Mozart at the age of ten.
The church is still in full use, but there are lots of possibilities for hire, for instance for weddings, concerts, conferences, exhibitions, meetings, funerals and other events.
