Teahouse the Haarlemmerhout

The Haarlemmerhout, also known as The Wood, is the oldest urban forest in the Netherlands. The park is a fun place to go with children. Especially since it has a petting zoo. After your afternoon of walking, playing and watching goats and deer, it is nice to go to the cozy teahouse in the city park. The menu at the teahouse definitely takes children into account. In fact, it features pancakes, poffertjes and sandwiches. A peanut butter or chocolate chip sandwich are also available at the tea house. The place is fun for young and old alike!

The teahouse is open every day from 9:30 am - 5 pm.




Brownies&downieS

Brownies&downieS is located in one of the Golden Streets in the center of Haarlem: the Schagchelstraat. The warm atmosphere in the restaurant gives you a living room feeling. There is a special kids menu with the most delicious lunch dishes for kids. The menu includes pancakes, sandwiches, tomato soup and a mini bacon. For the big people, of course, there is plenty of choice as well. There are many vegetarian and vegan options.

Brownies&downieS is open seven days a week from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.




Grow Cafe

The Grow Cafe is located in the Haarlemmer Kweektuin: the city park for sustainable thinking and doing. The city garden is a nice place for children. There is an animal pasture including chickens and rabbits and a small playground. The Kweekcafé's menu is filled with products from entrepreneurs who combat food waste and work with natural products. There are also snacks and drinks for little ones. For example, there is gnome lemonade, a children's smoothie, nibbled vegetables and a sandwich with apple syrup.

The Growing Café is open from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and closed only on Tuesdays.




Mr. Pepper

Mister Paprika is known as the toy store of Haarlem. But did you know you can also have lunch here in the café? The homemade cakes are a favorite. The dishes are simple: a sprinkles sandwich, croissant, bouncer... Everything is in children's size. Mister Paprika is a true children's paradise. You will find Mister Paprika in one of Haarlem's Golden Streets: the Koningstraat.

On weekdays, Mister Pepper is open from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday the store is open at 09:00 and on Sunday at 10:00.




Crepe Affaire

Pancakes. What kid doesn't love them? And are the kids already familiar with crepes; the brother of the pancake? In the Kruisstraat you will find Crepe Affaire. As the name suggests, crêpes are served here. Crêpes taste just as good as pancakes, but are a lot thinner. At Crêpe Affaire, you can choose between sweet and salty toppings. Are you a sweet tooth and love toppings like Nutella and apple crumble? Or do you go for a crepe with bacon? There are plenty of options for little ones. They can also feast on waffles and pastries.

The restaurant is open every day from 10:00 am - 6:30 pm. Only on Saturdays, Crêpe Affaire is open at 9:30 a.m.




Mr. French

Mr. French graces Haarlem with a shop-in-shop in the monumental building of Van Duivenboden Interieur. The lunchroom is located in the heart of Haarlem with a beautiful, recently renovated courtyard garden. Here you will find delicious sandwiches, flammkuchen, pies, salads and other delicacies. There is also thought to the little ones. The children's menu includes a chocopaste sandwich with banana slices, an apple syrup sandwich with apple slices and a croquette sandwich.

Tuesday through Friday, the restaurant is open from 09:30 - 18:00. On weekends, they are open from 10:00 - 18:00. On Mondays, Mister French is closed.
