Christmas begins
in Haarlem
This year's Christmas market will feature nearly 350 stalls spread across 12 locations in the downtown area. On Saturday and Sunday, the Schagchelstraat and the Kleine Houtstraat will once again be transformed into Emma's Street, where you will go back in time to a real 19th-century Christmas party and a mid-century Christmas street.
During the Christmas Market we have a very extensive entertainment program. Especially on Saturday and Sunday the entertainment will burst forth with plenty of performances in the downtown area, both indoors and outdoors. Friday is for visitors who want to visit the Christmas market in peace and quiet.

During the Christmas Market Haarlem, Houtplein will be partially closed due to works. Please take this into account during your visit and follow the indicated detours. Plan your route in advance and come enjoy everything the Christmas Market has to offer!
On a bicycle
Free and fast: Avoid traffic jams and parking.
Guarded bike racks: Follow the signs to covered and guarded bike racks around the Christmas market (these are also shown on the map).
Special opening: The bicycle parking lot on Jacobijnestraat will be specially open until 7 p.m. this weekend. The opening hours of other parking facilities have also been adjusted for the Christmas market.
By Train
Travel easily from Alkmaar, Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht or other cities directly to Haarlem station.
Walking distance: From the train station, you can walk to the Christmas market in about 10 minutes.
Track work: Attention! There are track works between Leiden and Haarlem. Coming from Leiden? Travel via Amsterdam and transfer at Sloterdijk station.
By bus
From Beverwijk, IJmuiden or Hoofddorp, you can easily travel to Haarlem by bus.
Stops near the Christmas Market: Get off at Haarlem Station, Verwulft or Houtplein.
Children travel for free! During the Christmas Market, children may travel by bus to Haarlem for free.

By car
Parking: Parking garages in downtown Haarlem fill up quickly during the Christmas market. We recommend coming by bike, train or bus.

Additional buses: Connexxion is deploying shuttle buses that will get you to the city center within 12 minutes, right at the Christmas market. Children travel for free: Also on the shuttle buses!

We are therefore looking for you!
We have various tasks such as:

- Point of contact at the Christmas market (walking vvv)
- Crew issuing counter for organization
What you get from us:
On the day you will receive on loan a nice warm (ski) jacket with the text Crew on it. You will also receive consumption vouchers for food and drinks and a small gift afterwards.

Toilet facilities
During Christmas Market 2024, you can use restroom facilities at the following locations:
Great Wood Street (near the Wood Bridge): Here you will find accessible restrooms where you can take a break and refresh during your visit to the cozy Christmas market.
New Green Market: In the middle of the festive atmosphere of the New Green Market, you will find a toilet facility so that you can continue to enjoy your visit in comfort.
Grote Markt (including MIVA): visitors with special needs have also been considered. Restrooms, including facilities for the disabled (MIVA), are available at the Grote Markt, so that everyone can participate in the festivities carefree.

Haarlem is easily accessible by public transportation. The Haarlem Central train station is within walking distance of most entertainment areas. There are also several bus lines running through the city. If you come by car, there are parking options near the entertainment areas, but keep in mind that parking in the center of Haarlem can be limited.
- Parking garages De Kamp, De Raaks, Appelaar and Stationsplein. These are filling up fast!
- TIP: Expo Haarlemmermeer (€10 parking for a whole day). From there it's another 12 minutes by bus.Â
Admission to the Christmas market is free
There different types of outlets: stalls, Christmas houses and pagoda tents. In terms of products, you will find Christmas items, gift items, jewelry, fashion accessories, food and drinks, among others.
During the Christmas Market we have a very extensive entertainment program. There will be a children's family attraction at the Grand Place and stalls at the locations with children's items.

Yes there is a Santa Claus present that visitors can have their picture taken with.
The Christmas market is wheelchair accessible.
Security cameras have been put up to monitor all locations. This is constantly monitored at the central station. Where necessary, action can be taken by traffic controllers, enforcement, security or even police.
