The most famous and impressive flower parade in The Netherlands is the Bloemencorso Bollenstreek. This year’s theme is 'Freedom'.
On Saturday April 25st, 2019, the 73st edition of the parade drives it’s 42 kilometres long route from Noordwijk to Haarlem. The Bloemencorso in the Bollenstreek is the only event of this magnitude which takes place in spring in The Netherlands. Also, it is the only parade that is built up with the famous Dutch bulb flowers such as hyacinths, tulips and daffodils. It is no surprise the Bloemencorso in the Bollenstreek is also called ‘The face of spring’. With all the spring colours and perfumes surrounding the parade, there is no other one quite as unique as the Bloemencorso Bollenstreek!
From Friday afternoon the floats will be lined up in the city centre of Noordwijkerhout. In the evening the Bloemencorso drives through Noordwijkerhout completely illuminated.
On Saturday April 25st the Bloemencorso leaves the Koningin Wilhelmina boulevard in Noordwijk at 9.30am, starting its journey to Haarlem where it will arrive, beautifully illuminated, about 12 hours later in the city center at 9.30pm. The floats will stay here until the day after, Sunday April 26nd.
The parade consists of around 20 floats and over 40 luxurious and special vehicles richly decorated with flowers. The parade is accompanied by several bands, making the Bloemencorso Bollenstreek a fun and festive experience!
