Just do it: book an overnight stay. And if possible during the week, so you can experience the city like a local. Go for a comfortable hotel in the middle of the city, such as Hotel ML (also restaurant), Ambassador City Centre Hotel or MAF Haarlem. Or choose Boutiquehotel Staats, near the train station in an old school building.
With the whole family or a group? Book an apartment at Brass Hotel Suites or Haarlem Hotel Suites. Also suitable: Hello I'm Local Boutique Hostel or Stayokay.
Just outside the city you also have fine options, such as hotel Van der Valk. Prefer camping? In the area you will find several camping sites, such as towards Bloemendaal aan Zee. Plenty of choice for a night. Or two, or three.
Haarlem is celebrating spring. With, of course, the world-famous Flower Parade of the Bulb Region, but you can also feel, taste and experience the new season in the hospitality industry, the arts and culture sector and the cozy shopping streets.
The Bloemencorso Bollenstreek is one of the highlights. On Saturday, April 22, a colorful flower parade travels from Noordwijk to Haarlem. Every year this event attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world. On Sunday, April 23, you can admire the floats all day in downtown Haarlem.
The parade has been officially added to the list of Unesco Intangible Heritage since 2021.
During the Flower Market on Sunday, April 2, the Grand Place was transformed into a colorful Tulip Picking Garden. After purchasing downtown, you could pick a free bunch of 10 tulips.Â
Tulip picking garden on shopping streets

Of course you can taste spring in Haarlem's cozy bars and restaurants. On the terrace in the spring sun, with a good spring classic on your plate.
Haarlem is not only the city of windmills and beautiful canals, but also of flowers. With the hashtag #flowercity you can show the world how beautiful Haarlem is in spring. So are you in Haarlem soon (or are you a Haarlemmer) and enjoying the colorful flowers? Then be sure to use the hashtag #bloemenstad on social media and let everyone know that Haarlem is the flower city of the Netherlands.
