Corso Saturday

cartoon characters from haarlem

Haarlem is putting itself in the spotlight in a unique way during the 2025 Flower Parade. This year, Haarlem's float is entirely dedicated to the city's rich tradition of comic book creators. With iconic characters such as Jopo de Pojo, Elsje, Vos and Haas and Fokke and Sukke, Haarlem is paying tribute to the uniqueness of comic book culture.

Haarlem has a long history as a cultural hotspot, and with this car, the importance of comics as an art form is underlined. Whether you are a fan of Fokke and Sukke, have childhood sentiments with Fox and Hare, or just want to see how art and nature come together - this cart has something for everyone.

Haarlem

On Sunday, April 13, the floats can be admired up close one more time in the historic center of Haarlem. This is the time to take beautiful pictures.

Haarlem flower city

Haarlem has been known for centuries as the flower capital of the Netherlands. In the mid-17th century, Haarlem was the center of flower bulb cultivation. The sandy soil was very suitable for cultivation. The largest and most famous growers were located in Haarlem. Tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and lilies were a Haarlem specialty.
